Why Volunteer for the Solano Anti-Trafficking Coalition?

Human trafficking isn’t just a distant issue it’s happening right here, in our neighborhoods, and it demands a bold, community-driven response. At Nature of Sound, we believe that real change starts with people like you: students, artists, coders, storytellers, and advocates who want to do more than just talk about change they want to make it.

This is your invitation to join a movement that’s hands-on, innovative, and survivor-centered.

🎨 Unique Volunteer Roles: More Than Just One Way to Make a Difference

We are committed to combating human trafficking together in the heart of Solano County. At Nature of Sound, we consistently pioneer innovative ways for you to engage, tailored to your skills, schedule, and passions.

We believe exploitation is a cause that can rally a community in unity. Volunteering is not limited to direct rescue or legal work. There are many unique volunteer roles that leverage different skills and interests. For example:

  • Awareness Campaign Creators: Launch viral social media challenges, design digital campaigns, or organize school events that educate and mobilize.

  • Storytellers & Content Creators: Use your voice, camera, or pen to document survivor journeys, create short films, or build infographics that inform and inspire.

  • Fundraising Trailblazers: Dream up art shows, benefit concerts, or e-sports tournaments that bring communities together and raise critical funds.

  • Tech for Good: Help us build and improve our digital tools—like the Victim Referral System—using your skills in UI/UX, coding, or data analysis.

  • Advocacy & Policy Shapers: Collaborate on research, draft policy briefs, or join lobbying efforts to strengthen protections and resources for survivors.

  • On-the-Ground Support: From event logistics to volunteer onboarding, there’s a place for every energy and every interest.

Every skill matters. Every perspective counts. If you’re ready to use your creativity for a cause that truly matters, we want you on our team

These roles enable volunteers to use their distinct skills and passions, enhancing our effectiveness to fight against human trafficking. Additionally, we offer many other roles that might surprise you! If you're drawn to creative roles, we are creating a network of talented and passionate volunteers to join the effort.

🔥 Where Are Volunteers Needed Most?

The fight against human trafficking needs all hands on deck, especially here in Solano County.

  1. Host Awareness Walks in Your Community

We need passionate volunteers to help organize and lead awareness walks in Vallejo, Rio Vista, Benicia, Dixon, and Suisun City. These walks unite community members, raise visibility, and send a powerful message that exploitation will not be tolerated here.

  1. SafeHaven: Protecting Youth in Gaming Spaces

Our SafeHaven initiative is a campaign for safeguarding young people where they gather most—online and in gaming venues. Volunteers are needed to help recruit local business staff from game shops, educate parents, train tournament organizers, and create safe zones for esports, closing the gaps traffickers exploit.

  1. Missing Person Rapid Response Network

When someone goes missing, every second counts. Our coalition has developed a rapid response protocol—connecting families, law enforcement, and volunteers to mobilize quickly, distribute information, and bring loved ones home faster.

  1. Hotel Documentation Project

Hotels are often exploited by traffickers. We’re pioneering a volunteer-powered effort to document hotel room layouts, staff practices, and local patterns, creating a confidential database that helps law enforcement and survivor advocates identify and disrupt trafficking operations.

  1. Shine the Light: Local Business Support

We’re mobilizing local businesses to take a stand. From displaying hotline posters and awareness materials to sponsoring events and training staff, Solano businesses are becoming active partners in prevention and recovery.
